Schwartz Media is seeking an experienced Next.js + PHP Headless CMS developer for a three - four month contract to enhance and prepare our existing Next-Drupal site for scale.
Scope of work
The role will focus on improving our current platform with a strong emphasis on scalability and subscription workflows.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement Google Reader Revenue Manager for Everyone (RRME):
- Product subscription Buy flow & purchase buttons
- Subscription linking
- Extended Access & Login with Google
- Ensure full compliance with Google RRME guidelines
- Improve the codebase and caching setup of our Next-Drupal site
- Configure the site for multi-pod Kubernetes deployment, ensuring it can be duplicated and adapted for additional projects
- Integrate updates without interfering with our existing Piano.io subscription and paywall system
- Work with Google APIs and Piano APIs to ensure seamless subscription management and access control
- This project is time sensitive
Required skills/experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Next.js
- Drupal / Next-Drupal integration experience
- Proficiency in PHP for headless CMS
- Familiarity with Google APIs (especially RRME)
- Experience with Piano.io APIs for subscription and paywall systems
- Knowledge of Kubernetes (multi-pod deployments) and containerised architectures
- Strong understanding of caching strategies
Advantageous skills/experience
- Previous experience implementing Google RRME end-to-end
- Familiarity with subscription products, SaaS workflows, and access-control flows
